I just finished a fairly solid deep dive into the Alarm.com ADC-V730 4MP outdoor Wi-Fi camera. This one ended up being almost 28 minutes so I could take the time to walk through all of the camera’s settings and even build a Video Analytics 2.0 rule.
In the video I go through the installation from beginning to end, but spend most of the time on configuration and some of the newer capabilities of the camera. If you’re installing a V730 or considering one and trying to figure out exactly what it can do different from other cameras, hopefully this serves as a useful reference. A few things I particularly like about the V730
The newer generation of Video Analytics rules, and Perimeter Guard is much more configurable than you might initially expect. In the video I actually run through the various light and sound options so you can get an idea of what they do rather than just looking at the settings screen.
I also am really happy with the bluetooth enrollment feature, eliminating the need to switch wireless networks on your phone to provision the camera.
Overall, I think the V730 and the newer generation of cameras are very interesting additions to the Alarm.com camera lineup, particularly for someone who wants a more capable and flexible outdoor camera while remaining completely within the Alarm.com ecosystem.
